God Is Absent from Roadside Trash

May 12, 2012

but author, good and perfect, these are not,
nor are life or light or love or pleasure
or problems
xxxxxxxxxxxxor death.
xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxAnd there is no dirt,
no road, no trees, no girl even (although
there are women). I can wish but not hope,
predict but not know. I can turn back time,
but not learn or regret or be absolved.
No matter (matter is a go) what I
do (yes, that too), I find (yes!) no words
(no) I need (no) to hope (no) it other

could be gathered and disposed of, or could
—without purchase or risk—just be redeemed.
